Our Studio
Opened in 2021, Checkmat Portland is a family run Jiu Jitsu academy founded by Professor Junior "Juninho" Crivelari. We are located in Troutdale, OR and are an affiliate of Checkmat Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, one of the most successful teams in competitive BJJ.
Our Philosophy/Mission
We believe that Jiu Jitsu provides students with many physical and mental benefits inside and outside of the academy. Our mission is to make a positive impact in your life with our character building and leadership program through the art of Jiu Jitsu.
