Our Studio
Founded in 2021 by Professor Junior 'Juninho' Crivelari, Checkmat Portland is a family-run Jiu Jitsu academy located in Troutdale, OR. As an affiliate of Checkmat Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, one of the most successful teams in competitive BJJ, we offer world-class training for all ages and skill levels.

We believe that Jiu Jitsu provides students with many physical and mental benefits inside and outside of the academy. Our mission is to make a positive impact in your life with our character building and leadership program through the art of Jiu Jitsu.
